Location

Woolacombe

is located in a region of beaches that are classed as Europe’s finest and cleanest and hold’s a Blue Flag award. The main beach is recognised as one of the top ten beaches in the world. Almost three miles long of golden sand from Putsborough to Woolacombe gives plenty of space for everyone to enjoy their chosen activity.

Woolacombe is renowned for it’s long board mellow break.

It is also ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing if you’re into these! It is also great for families and other watersports activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. The beach is manned by lifeguards in the summer months making it safe for children and bathers. The beach is host to a number of annual events from surfing competitions to an international sand castle building competition.

In addition to the beaches and scenic surroundings there are a number of traditional and contemporary bars and restaurants creating a lively atmosphere and nightlife in the village. During the day there are no end of places in which to eat a Devonshire cream tea or, if you prefer, to take away a traditional pasty.
